These shoes are crafted by patching together scraps of sashiko fabric, each meticulously hand-stitched by Indian artisans. The fabric is dyed using the Indian mud-resist dyeing technique known as Dabu.
The scraps used were generated during the production of clothing and miscellaneous goods and were provided by GAYA, an Indian handicraft store in Kudan, Tokyo. Dabu dyeing is characterized by its irregular unevenness, which results from using mud instead of wax.
*Since these are handmade, the patchwork design may vary slightly from one item to another. Please enjoy them as one-of-a-kind pieces.
*The pattern will vary depending on where the fabric is cut; we cannot accommodate specific requests, so please be aware of this beforehand.
